About the Panelists:
Alex Tan, Design Innovation Director, Philips Design
Alex is a visionary thinker and leader with a diverse background that spans across many industries and design disciplines. His leadership style is very hands-on; he leads through example and inspiration. Alex enjoys rolling up his sleeves to work together with the team, whether it is setting the vision, sketching ideas, conducting field research or doing 3D modeling or occasional coding. He is always curious and eager to learn new skills. Alex believes a good design leader should be well-versed in the craft of design.
Jeremy Van Hill, Johnson & Johnson
Jeremy Van Hill is an Innovation Strategist and award-winning designer dedicated to creating meaningful, user-centered solutions that improve lives. With over a decade of experience in industrial and UI design, he has contributed to a wide range of consumer, commercial, and medical products. His work in med-tech spans revolutionary Class III surgical devices and large-scale connected health platforms valued in the millions.Jeremy’s design philosophy centers on deep user understanding, ensuring that every functional and emotional element of a product is thoughtfully considered. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards, including Time Magazine’s Most Amazing Inventions (2005, 2009), the Chicago Housewares Design Award, the Excellence in Design Silver Award, and CES Design Showcase Honors.
