Based on consumer research, a unique storytelling narrative was developed for each SKU, highlighting the play type, creative elements, and a cohesive visual identity designed to present the collection as a unified family on the shelf. - Industrial Design Development
Based on user needs, market requirements, and operating environments, a broad range of concepts was developed with a focus on intuitive interaction, usability, and unique expression for each SKU. Each concept explored play type, creative elements, and alignment with the unified GTB visual identity. - Design Refinement, Handoff and CMF Definition
Produced all 3D geometry and CMF documentation, collaborating with Geoffrey’s Toy Box to bring every SKU to life on an accelerated production timeline.

The Market Opportunity <color=orange>
A cohesive line of hands-on toys that meets a cultural shift away from screens and toward real-world, imaginative play.
The 2025 toy market continues to evolve alongside changing societal trends. Households with children under 18 represent 38% of all families, creating a strong and sustained consumer base. Parents and educators are prioritizing toys that enhance cognitive, motor, and social skills, fueling growth in STEM and skill-building categories, while rising screen fatigue has renewed interest in physical, hands-on play. Open-ended toys support brain development by encouraging creativity, reducing performance pressure, and helping children translate ideas into tangible problem-solving and innovation. Reintroducing the immersive atmosphere of classic toy stores signals more than nostalgia; it reflects a broader cultural shift toward tactile engagement and real-world connection. Recognizing this shift, Macy’s saw a meaningful opportunity for growth and expanded relevance and partnered with Loft to design a unified portfolio of toys that turns that opportunity into a shelf-ready product.

A portfolio designed as one: eight SKUs that work together to redefine what classic toy shopping feels like <color=purple>
Versatile and imaginative, these toys let children construct elaborate monster cities, stage star-studded makeovers, master a first instrument, mimic everyday household routines, and bring arcade-night energy home. Together, the SKUs foster cooperation, problem-solving, and critical thinking — offering insight into how children understand rules, interpret their surroundings, and mirror real-world behaviors. Designed as a single coordinated family rather than a series of one-offs, the Geoffrey’s Toy Box portfolio gives Macy’s a unified, screen-free play story that lives consistently across more than 400 shop-in-shop experiences.

Unleash Monster-Sized Building Fun <color=white>
Built for constructive play, the monster-themed block set invites children to dream up and build entire cities of creatures from 100 mix-and-match wooden pieces. Eyes, mouths, and heads snap together in endless combinations, giving each child's creation a distinct personality. The chunky, rounded forms and bold primary palette — warm wood tones anchored by vivid accent colors — establish a visual warmth that anchors the GTB family aesthetic: tactile, durable, and unmistakably handcrafted.

Glam Revival Vanity Set for Your Little Hollywood Star <color=white>
Rooted in expressive and cooperative pretend play, the light-up vanity set lets children step into the everyday rituals they watch adults perform. A Hollywood-lit mirror, hair dryer, straightener, compact, puff, and lipstick fill a tidy storage drawer, turning a bedroom corner into a stage. Soft pastels, rounded silhouettes, and a warm glow align the set with the GTB palette — feminine without being delicate, playful without being juvenile.

Pretend Play Vacuum for Little Helpers in Training <color=white>
Functional pretend play is the heartbeat of this SKU, a child-sized vacuum that mirrors the real thing closely enough to feel purposeful. The convertible handheld and stick form; spinning confetti roller; and safe-to-play suction give children agency over their environment in a way screens never can. Clean lines, a compact footprint, and colors drawn from the broader GTB range tie it visually to the family while signaling reliability and everyday utility.

Arcade Claw Machine for Classic Retro Fun <color=white>
Nostalgic and competitive play drives this SKU — a joystick-controlled claw machine that distills the arcade experience into a home-ready, child-safe format. Integrated lights, sound effects, and a dynamic prize system give every session a moment of genuine suspense. Retro typography, a bold two-tone cabinet, and coin-op-inspired graphic elements bring visual energy to the portfolio, while the GTB color system keeps it firmly in the family. On shelf, it functions as the lineup's eye-catching anchor — stopping shoppers before they've read a word.

Musical Discovery Starts with Play <color=white>
Designed for the youngest players in the lineup, this SKU layers strummable strings, playable keys, and responsive light and sound into a single sensory-rich instrument scaled for small hands. The play type is exploratory and sensory — no rules, no wrong notes. Rounded corners, soft color gradients, and integrated light channels reference the electric guitar's visual language at a toddler scale, creating a clear visual bridge between the two music SKUs and reinforcing the GTB family's developmental arc from 18 months upward.

Creativity Meets Sparkle and Style <color=white>
Creative and expressive play underpins this modular nail art system, which pairs a custom airbrush glitter pen with interchangeable stickers, wraps, and press-on nails. The system is designed for experimentation — layered, revisable, and endlessly reconfigurable. Iridescent finishes, soft metallics, and a compact kit form align it with the Glam Revival vanity set, reinforcing a beauty sub-family within GTB that shares a visual language of shimmer, softness, and self-expression.

Educational Karaoke Fun for Growing Performers <color=white>
Performance and social play are the core of this SKU, a karaoke machine that turns any room into a stage and any group of children into an audience. Microphone, speaker, and light effects combine to create a full performance moment. Bright stage lighting, a bold graphic shell, and a dominant GTB color block connect it visually to the electric guitar and toy guitar, completing the music trio on shelf and giving the portfolio a clear, energetic throughline from a child's first strum to their first solo.

Play Loud, Learn Fast, Have Fun <color=white>
Performative and expressive play defines this SKU: a ¾-size electric guitar with a purpose-built amp that removes every barrier between a child and their first musical moment. Tactile controls, authentic proportions, and a plug-and-play setup make the experience feel real. A bold, stage-ready color story and graphic detailing echo the energy of the karaoke machine and toy guitar, forming a distinct music sub-family within the GTB portfolio that reads as cohesive on shelf.
