As labs face growing pressure from understaffing and heavy workloads, the demand for streamlined, integrated solutions is more urgent than ever. Scientific research often involves navigating fragmented workflows across various labs, each relying on different instruments, panels, and data systems. Researchers must manage complex equipment and manually align disparate data sources, an inefficient process prone to delays, errors, and high costs. This reliance on siloed systems and specialized expertise creates bottlenecks that slow discovery, limit scalability, and reduce the overall effectiveness and impact of scientific research.

Solution

Loft Design and Codetta Bio partnered to create the Concerto™ platform, an integrated system that combines the Prelude™ sample preparation workflow with a custom touchscreen interface. Designed for high-throughput, multiplex biomarker detection, Concerto™ unifies digital PCR, real-time PCR, and immunoPCR into one seamless workflow, streamlining complex analyses while reducing sample volume and system footprint. Loft led a comprehensive UX strategy, beginning with user research to inform the platform’s architecture and interface design. Iterative testing with Codetta’s scientists ensured a user experience that is intuitive, efficient, and tailored to real-world lab environments.
