Based on identified user needs in the live-performance market, insights revealed gaps in portability, usability, and sound optimization. These findings define a clear opportunity for a mixer that bridges studio-grade performance with live simplicity. - Competitive Benchmarking
A comprehensive assessment of compact live-performance mixers benchmarked existing products and their features to identify opportunities for improvement. These findings informed a clear positioning for a small, portable performance mixer not currently represented in the market landscape. - Technical Configuration
With a strong emphasis on size, portability, and usability, internals and key components were evaluated and optimized to support rugged use, compact setup, and easy transport to gigs. - Product Design Refinement
The team refined technical boundaries to support a selected design that clearly expresses portability and performance. The selected materials, CMF, and I/O elements elevate perceived quality, durability, and overall fit and finish, ensuring the product communicates precision, reliability, and premium craftsmanship. - Design for Manufacturing
Working closely with the Bose design team, we refined the housing components and mechanical details, optimizing the design for efficient production, reliable assembly, and consistent quality while preserving the intended aesthetics, fit and finish, and overall design intent. - Product Visualization
Created high-fidelity visual assets to communicate product value across marketing, sales, and user education channels. Visualizations highlighted key differentiators, compact form, intuitive interface, and seamless integration through contextual usage scenarios and detailed feature callouts.

Streamlined mixer design delivering fast setup, intuitive control, and professional sound for live performance environments
Driven by a deep understanding of performance environments and user workflows, Loft partnered with Bose to define and prioritize the mixer’s most critical features. The team streamlined setup and teardown by integrating a ToneMatch interface with simplified connectivity, including power delivered directly through the ToneMatch port to eliminate the need for a separate power supply. To further improve portability, they developed a patented magnetic snap-on cover that enables fast, secure storage in a gig bag. Available in four- and eight-channel configurations, the ToneMatch mixers are designed for versatility, featuring combi mic/line inputs with phantom power and a familiar control layout with dedicated knobs for levels, mutes, and ToneMatch presets supporting an intuitive transition for users coming from analog systems.
